What is Alcohol Smart? It's the line between in control and out of it.
The proper, controlled use of alcoholic beverages has played a key role since the dawn of civilization. We use it to celebrate success, toast social occasions, and even make gatherings of all sorts a little easier for everyone involved.
But used improperly, alcohol can be a dangerous substance-one with many harmful, and even deadly, consequences.
Tellurian UCAN - Who We Are
Tellurian UCAN, Inc. is a not-for-profit agency that provides a wide array of human services. Services address problems relating to substance abuse and addictions, mental illness, and homelessness
We serve individuals and their families at all levels of need. Services can be purchased directly by individuals, but fees are also covered by many insurance and HMO plans. Tellurian specializes in treating patients with a dual diagnosis. The level of care provided is based upon the unique needs of each individual seeking services, and is sensitive to the cultural backgrounds of its clients and patients.

Tellurian has a long history of providing substance abuse services, opening its first program in 1971.
Over time, Tellurian has developed a full continuum of care, ranging from prevention/early intervention, outpatient, intensive outpatient, residential treatment, medically monitored detoxification and community case management.
Patients enter programs based upon their level of need, determined by Uniform Placement Criteria adopted by the State of Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services. Tellurian programs specialize in treating patients with a dual diagnosis of mental illness and addiction.

Opioid Addiction, often accompanying the treatment of pain with the use of prescription opiates as well as an
increase in heroin use, has become a major social problem in the United States.
The Teresa McGovern Center (TMC) recognizes that it is ideal for individuals participating in Opioid (heroin and
other prescription drugs) addiction treatment to do so in a well balanced program utilizing a “continuum of care”
approach.

Tellurian is an approved provider of the BASICS Program for the University of Wisconsin - Madison
Starting in the fall semester of 2011, a program called BASICS will be utilized as a conduct sanction for alcohol policy violations committed by UW-Madison students.
