Our Residential Treatment is the most intensive form of care, and provides a safe, secure, and structured living environment on our Main Campus for up to 90 days.   Treatment includes individual and group therapy, spiritual care groups, holistic healing and specialized counseling for problems such as anger management, domestic violence, and mental health issues.

Tellurian specializes in substance use disorders with an emphasis on co-occurring mental health disorders. Many patients struggling with substance use disorders have accompanying mental health or behavioral health issues, such as depression, anxiety disorders, or post-traumatic stress disorders. To support these patients and most effectively address their disease, mental health counseling is integrated into the treatment regimen. The Tellurian Medical Director, a specialist in addiction medicine and member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), provides medical oversight, including health screens and diagnosis of underlying health issues. Psychiatric care is provided as appropriate or recommended, assuring that any co-occurring mental health issues are identified and treated along with the addiction. Men and women are housed in separate living areas, have separate common areas, and participate in separate, but similar, treatment regimens.

Our Main Campus is located in Madison, Wisconsin adjacent to the Aldo Leopold Nature Center amid 110 acres of conservancy land.  Tellurian provides a safe, secure, unlocked, highly structured living environment for patients in need of substance abuse treatment, including opiate addiction.

Tellurian’s on-site team of state certified and licensed professionals specializing in addiction and mental health deliver a multi-faceted treatment program. Tellurian therapists, with Masters level or higher training, are experienced in multiple treatment disciplines, offering patients a higher level of care. Therapists develop highly personalized treatment plans based on the clinical and individual needs of each patient. Current treatment philosophies and programs include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Stages of Change, Behavioral Modification, Relapse Prevention, Spirituality and Forgiveness, Addiction and Cravings group and Lifestyle Balance.  We offer optional holistic approaches as well including Yoga, Canoeing, Exercise, and Expressive Art.    Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) and Narcotics Anonymous (N.A.) 12-step programs are optional and available for all patients.
