The La Crosse Care Center provides short-term residential crisis stabilization for people in acute emotional or psychiatric distress focused on stabilization, coping skills, and a safe transition back to daily life.
This facility supports people experiencing a mental health crisis, depression, mood disorders, anxiety and OCD, panic, trauma and PTSD, grief, suicidal thoughts, or emotional instability. Stays are short, typically 5–7 days.
While admitted, you’ll have 24/7 supervision and clinical support, medication observation, symptom stabilization, individual counseling, case management, and connection to ongoing care. Care comes from a multidisciplinary team of nurses, behavioral health technicians, and licensed clinicians (team incl. Diane Huseboe, SAC-IT and Tim Blumentritt, LSW). Respite stays are also available.
This isn’t the right fit if you need long-term inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, medical detox, or hospital-level medical care, we’ll help connect you to the right setting.

Getting started is a call, a quick screening, and an assessment. When it’s clinically appropriate, same-day admission or rapid placement is often available. Our team evaluates your needs and confirms whether short-term stabilization is the right level of care.
During your stay: 24/7 monitoring, individual counseling, medication supervision, case management, group and family therapy, and evidence-based modalities including trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing.
The La Crosse Care Center is a voluntary residential program, not a hospital. It’s licensed under DHS 83 and DHS 34 as a Community-Based Residential Facility and Emergency Mental Health Service Facility, offering a supervised, calming environment staffed by trained mental health professionals.
Before discharge, your team builds a personalized aftercare plan that might include outpatient care, therapy, housing support, case management, or other community resources so stability continues after you leave.
Tellurian accepts Medicaid and commercial insurance, and offers self-pay options.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) pairs FDA-approved medications like Suboxone®, Sublocade, Vivitrol, and Brixadi with therapy, relapse prevention, and ongoing clinical support to reduce cravings and lower the risk of return to use.
MAT works best as part of a plan, not on its own. At Tellurian it's integrated with residential, outpatient, and IOP counseling, individual therapy, group support, and recovery planning. We treat opioid use including heroin, fentanyl, and prescription opioids.
You don't have to step away from your life to get real help. Whether it's weekly therapy or a more structured schedule, we'll build a plan that fits and start with a confidential assessment.
